A jump cut is where two sequential shots are taken from a different angle but only slightly.
There are frequent uses of jump cuts in music used to create specific effects. It used to jar the audience during the music video so that they are aware of what there watching rather getting lost in the narrative as its supposed to be advertising the song as it breaks the realism of the narrative.
